Defending champions Chennai have had a tough season in their quest to defend the title in Indian T20 League 2022. They have lost nine out of their 13 games in the season and are out of playoff contention. Ahead of the season, MS Dhoni handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja. However, the former had to take back the role after the team lost six out of eight games.
Notably, reports also suggest that there is a rift between the franchise and Jadeja. A source close to him suggests that the all-rounder is quite upset with how the captaincy episode was handled. So, all is not well in the Chennai camp. Not to forget that the Saurashtra player and the franchise have unfollowed each other on social media.
Amidst all the chaos, a fan of the Yellow Brigade has penned down an emotional letter for the Chennai skipper. A phrase of the long letter says “O captain, our captain, there shall never be someone like you.” Reacting to it, the Ranchi player said “Well Written. Best Wishes”. The letter has been framed by the franchise and the images of it were uploaded on their official Twitter handle.
The post was captioned “Words from the yellow love framed for life & signed with love!”.

The team is due to play to their last league of the season against Rajasthan on May 20. The four-time winners will be looking to end the campaign on a high. With nine losses, they have already made a record of losing most games in a season and wouldn’t want to make it 10. It will be interesting how the franchise will approach the next year’s player auction.
The team would be looking to invest in a few more younger players who can serve them in the future. Also, it will be interesting to see whether MS Dhoni remains part of the playing group next year or not
