He was one of the most economical bowlers for the Pakistan side this year and has chipped in with wickets for the team every time he has bowled. Travis Head has been in amazing form in all formats of the game this year and was one of the main batters for the Australian team. An injury to his right hand has effectively ruled him out of the first half of the ODI World Cup 2023 and it is unlikely that he will be able to compete even after his recovery period gets over. Australia will have to figure something out fast since he is one of the key batters of their line-up.

3) Tim Southee

Due to injuries, Tim Southee would not be able to play in his 4th ODI World Cup this year. During the ODI series versus England, Southee suffered a broken thumb after attempting a catch in one of the encounters. His experience would be tough to match but New Zealand will have to find Southee’s replacement fast.

He is set to travel alongside the team in the hope that he will be fully fit by the business end of the tournament. The 2019 World Cup winner can be added to the side if an injury occurs within the squad. If he is ruled out, England may falter during the death overs at the ODI World Cup 2023.
