Piyush Chawla is a player who had numerous opportunities to play for India but chose not to. His incredible IPL performances were unnoticed more often. He did not bowl as fast as Anil Kumble or spin the ball as far as Shane Warne did. He depended on a strong line, length, and tempo changes. The leg-spinner’s main claim to fame was his googly. He is currently the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL history having 179 wickets to his credit.

In addition, Nitish Rana assumed captaincy in place of usual captain Shreyas Iyer. Despite being a vital member of their squad, the Indian team has yet to give the batter any credit.

With nearly 3000 IPL runs under his belt, he has one of the greatest strike rates ever in IPL history, at 143. In 2008, the middle-order hitter set a record for the quickest T20 century. Although his striking prowess has diminished with time, he was as deadly as they come when he was performing at his best.
