Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is often considered to be the greatest player to have graced the game of cricket. Also known as the God of Cricket, Sachin represented India for 24 years. He gave many performances to remember for a lifetime in his illustrious career. Sachin broke several major records during his career and accomplished some elusive milestones that are still unmatched today. In this article, we will have a look at some of the records held by Sachin Tendulkar that have not been broken yet.

Sachin Tendulkar has the most centuries in international cricket of any batter in history. The Master Blaster smashed 51 centuries in Test cricket and 49 in ODIs. Another Indian batter, Virat Kohli, who has already scored 75 international hundreds, is expected to break his record. However, that seems a long shot as he is just getting into the rhythm after a century drought of nearly three years. Sachin is expected to keep the record for a while.

Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run-getter not only in ODIs but also in Test cricket, making him the all-time leading run-getter in international cricket. In international cricket, he has 34357 runs, a figure that is unlikely to be surpassed anytime soon. Virat Kohli is the closest active batter to Sachin Tendulkar’s record, with 25268 runs across all formats.

The cricketing legend also holds the record for most fours hit in the longest format. In Tests, he scored a whopping 2058 fours, with Rahul Dravid coming in second with 1654 fours. He was always precise with his shots and tried to find gaps rather than hitting the ball hard. None of the current batters come close to Sachin’s elusive record. He is likely to hold the record for a long time to come.

In his international career, he is the only player to have reached the double-century mark in terms of appearances in the longest format. England’s James Anderson is the next best, having played 179 Tests in his career. It remains to be seen whether he can break the record set by the Indian great.
