The Indian T20 League 2022 has already seen some young Indian uncapped players performing above expectations. One such name is the young express fast bowler for Jammu and Kashmir, Umran Malik. Malik is a part of the Hyderabad team for the 15th edition of the tournament. He has been breathing fire with the ball in hand and ripping apart batting orders in the tournament.

In the tournament so far, Malik has picked up 15 wickets from nine matches and is regularly clocking 150 kmph plus speed. He is striking fear in the mind of even the best batters with his sheer pace and newfound control over line and length. The former Indian batter and cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar has come up with a hilarious piece of advice for the batter to encounter the tearaway pacer.

During a conversation with Star Sports, Gavaskar advised the batters- “Take a single and go to the non-striker’s end,”-when asked about how to encounter Umran. He also said that the batters should cover all three stumps and not allow Mallik a sight of their stumps.

“Don’t give him a sight of your stumps. Cover all three stumps so that when he runs in to bowl, he has got to see where is the off stump, where is the leg stump,”- he added.

Speaking of Malik, who was in excellent form ahead of Sunday’s clash against Chennai had a rather off day against the Men in Yellow. After a brilliant performance against Gujarat where he picked up five wickets for 25 runs from his four overs, Malik looked out of form against Chennai. He bowled his full quota of four overs in the match and conceded 48 runs in them failing to pick up a wicket.

Hyderabad’s next assignment is against Delhi on the 5th of May at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Malik will look to bounce back strong in the match after an off-day at the office. With the T20 World Cup scheduled later this year on the first pitches of Australia, Malik looks like a bright prospect for India. He will look to perform better in the upcoming matches and ensure a ticket for the flight to Australia.
