IPL 2024
3 players that Rajasthan Royals can release ahead of IPL Auctions 2024
Rajasthan Royals would be hoping to assemble a tight-knit group ahead of the upcoming IPL season.
Rajasthan Royals(RR), with seven victories in 14 games, took fifth place in the 2023 Indian Premier League. Although Sanju Samson, their captain, has done a fantastic job leading them, their lack of resources has been a problem. It’s time for the leadership team to put their thinking caps on because another season is quickly approaching.
They’ve covered practically every aspect, but they can yet do better. The moment has come for the Royals to select the less well-known players who are itching to show off their skills in front of a large audience.Prior to the IPL 2024 Auction, the Royals want to let go of a few players.

3) Devdutt Padikkal
Devdutt Padikkal accumulated 261 runs with a strike rate of 130.5 across 11 games. Padikkal had been employed by the Royals in the middle order, which is not the best spot for a batter who has trouble accelerating quickly. He should ideally begin the innings to take advantage of the powerplay since he loves to take his time settling down at the crease.
Padikkal’s middle-order batting has caused more harm than good, but with no other choice available to them, RR was forced to rely on its inexperienced Indian batsmen. RR may decide to let him go before the upcoming season in order to find a replacement for the important middle-order position.
2) Joe Root
Joe Root appears to be the leading candidate on RR’s list. The English batter, who the Rajasthan Royals had bought at the last Indian Premier League auction, was a bust. In three games, Root scored a mere 10 runs while batting at the number three spot.
But because of his shortage of power hitting, he was left out to bat twice. Evidently, Root was not a good match for Rajasthan’s team, and the previous IPL champions may release him. By letting him go, the team may try to clear a position overseas.
1) Jason Holder
Among overseas players, the West Indies all-rounder endured one of the worst seasons ever. Given that he provided runs, Jason Holder had an extremely bad season. With the bat, he didn’t inspire much faith in the management and bowled at an economy rate of 9.96.
He batted in only three of the eight innings and came in after players like R Ashwin as well as Dhruv Jurel. In an effort to find a suitable foreign player for their team, Rajasthan may let him go.
