India and Pakistan are going head-to-head in their opening match at the 20-20 World Cup on October 23rd. With one win each in the last two matches, the historic rivalry is in balance at the moment. Pakistan would be going into this game on the back of a sensational win in the Super Four match of Asia Cup 2022.

India who had made winning against Pakistan in a World Cup match a walk in the park, do not go into this next match with the same confidence. The Men in Blue would be wary of Pakistan’s

Pakistan’s premium pace bowler Shaheen Afridi has played just one T20I match against India. That one match however is enough to send shivers down Indian cricket fans’ spines.

The last time India faced Pakistan in a T20I World Cup, it was Afridi who dismantled India’s top order and set up a 10-wicket win for Pakistan. Having missed out from the Asia Cup, Shaheen could return with similar hostility against India.

2. Mohammad Nawaz

The bowling all-rounder often goes under the radar as others come up with better performances, but when you look at his impact in the games, it becomes quite clear that Nawaz is probably one of the more important players in the team.

In two T20I matches against India, the bowling all-rounder has taken four wickets and has made 43 runs with a strike rate of 186.95. While the total runs is nothing home to write about, playing at 186 in the death should be a cause of concern for the Indian bowlers.

3. Haris Rauf

A duo of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf leaves India with no option but to go after the other. Capable of bowling at over 150kmph Rauf can trouble any batter in the world and in conditions that Australia has, he could be a big thorn in India’s batting.

The right-arm pacer is in great form at the moment, as he has taken 6 wickets in just 12 overs in the recently held Tri-series with Bangladesh and New Zealand.
